There’s a common sentiment among those in many industries, especially in offices: that you should always seek to become more productive, to do more work in less time. Today, we’ll show how this is a result of capitalism influencing the values of modern people purely for the benefit of the super rich elite.
What is productivity? It’s the idea that every moment spent not doing something is wasted time, and therefore, you should always be looking for ways to fit more into your schedule and get more done within a day. If you’re not being productive, then you aren’t a good worker and you aren’t reaching your potential, so says productivity. It really doesn’t take much imagination to see how this plays into the interests of corporate leaders. People who are motivated to work more because they believe it’s in their own interest and is the right thing to do will inevitably give you more results.
Note that more does not mean better – but that’s what predatory capitalism is all about: quantity over quality. Productivity is all about volume of work, not the quality of that work. Capitalists want you to become a machine, churning out whatever you’re expected to in less and less time, thus being more and more “efficient”, thus increasing revenue while keeping expenditures the same, thus raising net profit. It’s all a calculated and cynical attempt to squeeze more and more out of the same workforce.
And if you’re not productive, you’re called lazy. In fact, “laziness” results from the fact that people have no passion for what they’re doing. So, they introduced the concept of productivity in a transparent attempt to force people to work harder.
The super rich themselves don’t follow the same idea of being productive. They work rarely (if ever), and when they do, they never “produce” anything because that’s not their job. That’s your job. It’s for you to be productive, not them.
“Productivity” is how you motivate people to do more at jobs they hate. Many jobs have quotas that their employees must meet, and if not, disciplinary action is taken. The machine must always keep going. Not just going, but going faster. The super rich are always looking to maximize their profits, to earn more than they’ve ever earned before. With every shift of the goalposts, it’s the employees who are expected to up their productivity. The super rich are working the world to death in order to satisfy their insane avarice. They want more profits at any cost – as long as that cost is paid by ordinary people and not themselves.
It’s time to put an end to the corporate machine of productivity. Every year, we waste more and more yet aim to produce even more than we did before. Quantity, always more quantity, and fuck the outcome.
2008
Who perpetrated the 2008 financial crash? – private banks beholden to the super rich. Who fixed it? – governments, using taxpayer money. Why did it happen at all? – for no other reason than to satisfy the greed of the rich elites, who, as we all know, can never have enough money. Because they couldn’t contain their avarice, millions of people suffered. That’s the way it always is. And yet they have the audacity to tell the working class to be more productive!
Never forget 2008. They almost destroyed economies so they could reap the benefits of more loans and mortgages (i.e., interest). And guess who had to bail them out? They suffered no consequences as a result of their failure to support the economy.
Shit Rolls Downhill
You know the phrase. It’s true in any hierarchy, and especially in companies. Any bullshit thought up by the leaders must be tolerated by those lower down. But there’s another truth in the corporate application of this phrase, which is that when the higher-ups become less successful, so do their employees. Or even when they see an opportunity to pay themselves huge bonuses by firing huge amounts of expendable staff – they’ll do that too. We’re living in a shit swamp down here, while the billionaires are safe up in their ivory towers.
So let’s topple them. Bring them to earth to smell the sweet, sweet shit! If anyone deserves it, it’s them! And let’s hope they drown in it! The only way humanity can be free is to drown its oppressors in the shit they’ve made us tolerate for centuries!!
False Benefactors
The super rich think of themselves as the benefactors of the human race. But if that were true, then why would they need to convince you to work harder (via the gospel of productivity)? Clearly, it’s you who’s benefitting them, not the other way around.
Dismantle all the lies they have told you; it’s time to get serious. They get all the benefits while you work your ass off and receive nothing. It’s unacceptable. So don’t accept it!
Saviors?
The rich elites engage in philanthropy partly because it promotes the message that rich people are saviors rather than the enemies they certainly are. They want you to forget about all the bad things they do but remember the good stuff. And it seems to work!!
Always remember: the super rich are not, and never will be, on your side (unless you’re super rich, obviously – incidentally, if you are then you must be an extremely ill creature to be reading this). Don’t tolerate their bullshit. Call it out. Decry it for the lie it is.
We need a world of people who can tell who’s on their side and who isn’t, and right now, most people are evidently terrible at that. All it takes is a little propaganda and they’ve created a dispute, a controversy, and the focus leaves them and everyone forgets what the real problem is. That’s why the super rich are perfectly secure right now. They bask in the rivalry between liberalism and conservatism because it has nothing to do with them.
Appeal
Have you seen those companies that adopt LGBTQ flags for pride month? They don’t do that for nothing. They don’t do it because they are genuinely liberal. They do it because it makes them appeal to liberals, who they see as a larger or more profitable demographic. As ever, they are mercenary entities only interested in themselves and not in the broad implications of liberalism. Things interest them only to the extent that things can affect their profits. They have the most extreme one-track minds.
Do As I Say, Not As I Do
The rich always expect normal people to do what they would never do themselves. They do anything but lead by example. They’re so distant from actual work, they might as well be living on another planet. Rules and standards are for you, not for them. They can hold their workers to absurd standards because they don’t know what it’s like to do a high-intensity job day in and day out. How cowardly.
That’s how narcissists want things to be. They want to be “above it all” because, in their supremely warped minds, they are above everyone and everything else. They’re special. To ask them to do dirty work would be demeaning(!). In reality, they are invariably the most mediocre people you can imagine. They don’t care to actually achieve something and build good self-esteem in a natural way. They just think they’re great right now, so why try harder? Narcissists are always the most lukewarm people making the most laughable, grandiose claims about themselves. They are more or less unrecognizable as human. Let’s eject them all. They have no right inflicting themselves on honest, hard-working people.
The super rich have doomed themselves. Infinite greed is unsustainable in a finite world. They have crossed a critical threshold. A collapse is inevitable.
