How Politicians Lie to You

In honor of the nearing election in the US, today we’ll go through some of the ways in which politicians make it look like they’re on your side despite the fact that they’re absolutely self-serving.

On the Offensive

If you want to look good, then never be on the defensive. Always be on the offensive, attacking your opponents. You don’t want any critical attention on you if you’re a politician. You only want good attention. When you go on the defensive, you simply draw that critical attention towards yourself.

So always be attacking and criticizing your opponents and never address any criticisms of you.

Never Just Answer the Question

Remember, whenever they speak publicly, everything that politicians say is designed specifically to shape public thinking. It’s a carefully constructed rhetoric, never a candid, realistic, straightforward answer.

Pretend You Care

Every high-profile politician is at least a millionaire, even Kamala Harris, who has millions in investments. They’re never on your side, but the whole charade of politics is that they must pretend to be. They must pretend to be men and women of the people, despite their total detachment from normal reality.

Anyone who imagines Trump is on their side is absolutely hopeless. Only someone who has catastrophically failed to understand the world could think that way. Trump is on his own side. If, in acting in his own favor, he happens to benefit you, that’s totally collateral. Nothing could be more perverse than that people consider this man some sort of hero. He’s plainly in it for himself. His ego is the size of Jupiter and extremely sore. He created an entire social media platform (that no one uses) rather than have himself rightfully silenced for promoting misinformation. In any sane world, he would be in jail right now like the convicted felon he is. It’s the supreme injustice that he isn’t.

Isn’t it funny that Jack Teixeira, who was convicted for the wilful retention of classified information, faces between 11 and 16 years in prison – but when Trump does it, it’s a whole different situation. Just as always, there’s one rule for the regular people and another for the super rich (and former presidents). He’s retained classified information he had no claim to, he’s falsified business records, he’s tried to overturn the results of a lawful election, he’s committed sexual abuse, and still he’s allowed to not only walk free but bid for president! You know there’s something seriously wrong with a country when it permits convicted felons (and sexual abusers) an attempt at becoming its leader!!

When his supporters look at him, they see a man who stands for family values … but family values are exactly what’s screwing you over! Family values benefit the rich, not you. The family is a totally selfish entity, always looking out for itself by its very nature. The family assigns high value to its own members, but low value to everyone who isn’t part of it. Therefore, it’s considered perfectly okay, by family values, to screw over other families. The family acts in its own interests and to protect its members. It’s not family values that make you selfless; it’s decency.

Let’s consider a version of the famous trolley problem. If a train was heading down a track to kill five people, but you could pull a lever to divert it to one person who was also a family member, what would you do? Of course, you’d love to think that you’d divert the train to the one person, but the cold truth is that if you’re like the vast majority of people, you wouldn’t. You’d leave it.

Now we see how callous family values can be. Perhaps it’s not five people, it’s ten. Would you sacrifice your family member to save ten people? How about a hundred? How about a thousand? A million? For the super rich of course, the answers to all of these is no. To them, the family is the supreme entity. The same goes for the supporters of Trump, and that’s why they support him. Even though the system (including Trump himself) is keeping them down, they see themselves in him.

You should never identify with the super rich. They have demonstrated that they will take advantage of any credulity you give them. And your favorite politician is no different. Why do you think they utterly fail to make any change? They don’t want to. They want to keep benefiting from the system that already benefits them!

Reject politicians and all rich people – exploiters and deceivers of the working class. They will get their dues, and when that time comes, no amount of money will buy their forgiveness. Become ultra pecuniam beyond money.
